It only costs 4 bucks at the place I go to, which I'm pretty sure is cheaper than waxing. And plucking is just a pain. It's nice to go in, get it done, and then not worry about it for a few weeks.

It involves a thread, but no needle.

I'm pretty sure that threading is Hawaiian or Asian. It's two threads crossed like an 'X'. Then they grab one (some?) of you eyebrow hairs where the strings cross and pull them out.

It seems like it'd hurt as much as tweasing though.

is it like rolling a piece of thread up and down across your eyebrows to pull off stray hairs and thin them out?

Threading works really well. It's a more intricate procedure and doesn't hurt as much as waxing. It's just more time-consuming. You usually don't have to pluck random, missed hairs after a threading session. =)

I have really thick fuzzy eyebrows, and everyone tells me to pluck them BUT I WON'T! Because you see, sometimes when I'm lonely I stroke them and they're so soft and comforting up there I suppose I'd feel lonelier without them.

I know, it's a bit of a sad story, but it's true. My eyebrows are my friends. Also, I think my thick eyebrows make me look INTIMIDATING. And scary!
