Yeah, PS2s do break far too easily, and certain models can't even read the blue-back discs which a lot of games use, thems multi-layer DVD things.
Yeah, it's still better then XboX!!
Yeah, My PS2 reads Blue discs but after awhile it has beef with them and ends up beating them up while making strange "Help Im a PS2 getting raped" noise. True story. It sometimes sounds like it's scrathing my CDs that are already scratched enough...

I noticed with xbox games. They don't have many software companies developing gmaes for them. But the ones they have always preferred quality over quantity. Unlike games released on the PS2. I think the same thing is going to happen with the PS3. ITs gonna be quantity and fanboys will think its better than the xbox and only give the xbox credit for a game that sucks Halo 1 2 3.
When Xbox has came up with a lot better games than those, but nevermind that.
So a console that barely has a lifespan of 2 and a half years, long load times, and is only good for it's great RPGs is better than a console who's only flaws are large size and clunky controllers?
Yes.
But the xbox had a RPG game that outweighed all the other "playable anime" games the PS2 crapped out every two weeks or so. And that game is calle Morrowind. Which took years to make.
Take note: that Sony fanboys tend to be irrationally blind to follow behind their japaneese company. They view Japan as a world of anime and video game playing.Thus if it ain't japaneese then it ain't worth crap to them.
PS2 was very faulty, if people had the guts, they could open there PS2 and fiddle around with the insides to make is alot better. Most didnt and Sony made a profit. Thats ticked me off, I think the PS3 will not have faulty lasers......
Morrowind which is also out and much better played and even looking on PC.
Take note: You don't know what you're talking about. PS2 has plenty great american made games, all consoles have a majority of Japanese games of all types. If you want to be racist you might as well upgrade your PC.
You're just going to get Japanese RPG fans on a final fantasy site because it's a Japanese RPG.
Remember when all of the Jap RPGs where on the SNES? Those were SWELL times.
Whos aid I'm being a racist? They have a lot of good american games, but any american RPGs? Besides the awesome GTA's? and the awesome TRue Crimes? and the awesome.. oyu get what I'm saying. I know what your going to get but it ain't jsut this site. I go on a regular gaming site and all the Sony fans have that mentallity that if Japan doesn't approve thenis no good.
The xbox didn't sell well in Japan. Thus a number of american Sony fanboys hated the xbox just based on that one fact. Not all fanboys do it but a huge majority of them do have that mentallity that pisses me off. Its not that I hate Japaneese companies its that I think that other Companies from a different nationallity can develop consoles and games just as good, but its the fact that they aren't japaneese that they don't sell as well.
Also with Morrowind being on the PC it still counts as a game and as the best RPG. Did you ever tend to notice that most game developers for the PC tend to develop games for the xbox also?
better quality games just takes longer to develop. I've noticed it. THe only game I saw a PC developer make fo rhte PS2 was Rainbow Six 3 and the xbox version of it and the PC version of it was a lot better than the PS2 version of it.

There's not ONE company down in japan turning out these "playable anime" games "every two weeks" Xenosaga, Suikoden, Final Fantasy and other square enix games since it's a big company, all take around year or more to make.

Although PS3 probably has a better range overall, the 360 has Halo, Fable, BC (eventually) and the Elder Scrolls. ANd, since I don't get a huge amount of games (by some standars, anyway) I go for the best specific games. That, and Xbox has an online service a million times better than Sony.
but they're japaneese and the fact that SE makes money off of a name i.e. Final Fantasy. Just put a name and number and make a completely different game that doesn't relate with the other ones before it.
Thus $$$.
SE is a good developer and I'm not saying Japaneese game developers are the worse. they just get too much credit from the fanboys a bit too much and the fact that fanboys have a narrowminded way of thinking when it comes to consoles.
HEck most of the fanboys on here haven't even played or seen a PS3 in person. Yet they said they'll get it before they even play it at a store once it comes out.

My opinion is my opinion and I respect other opinions, but I like pointing out the facts that a company's name,and Nationality can carry them a lot futher in sales int he gaming world because of its fanbase. And yes Sony has the largest fanboydom base I have sever seen and its ridiculous. The new PS3 can be three sticks and oytu have to light a fire to play it at the same time burn alcohal and use a pin to see the games play and the controllers are grass and the fanboys will still get it for 600 bucks because it says Sony on it and Everyone knows Japaneese games and JApaneese game companies are the best and if it ain't japaneese it ain't worth looking at!
But Suikoden isn't a Square Enix game...
