I'm a guy, and I'd say it looks fine as long as it's taken care of. I.E. not having split ends, ecetera.

i couldnt be without my long hair, i'd feel weird
i like twirling it in my fingers and oh its so much fun 
but having long hair does mean that all the meanie girls on the bus put it in plaits and stuff, WHICH I DONT ACTUALLY MIND so its all good

I think it's sort of a requirement for hippies to have long hair.
Either way, I like how it looks. It makes my head look a little less large and strangely shaped.
