False release dates? Why?

I find it kind of weird that us Europeans should get the game two months before the Japanese, maybe they want to make up for the extreme long wait for ff10 (wishfull thinking..)

They are definitely false release dates.
The problem with Amazon and those kind of websites is that every item MUST be labelled with a release date (technicalities), so when the actual release date is uncertain, they make them up.

Yupp seems your right, Play.com has just made up a new release date, now its due for release on 03/02/2006.

Since it's coming out March 16th in Japan, it likely won't see a US release until at least June. It'll probably be even later than that. Add another 3-6 months for Europe and you're looking at a Holiday 2006 release...if you're lucky.

They do it to build the anticipation, they do it all the time, then when they release the date they shuffle it back a few weeks at a time until its 3 months late!!!!!

....worth the wait though!!!!!

i hope the release date on play.com are true because the release dates for the U.K which i have seen are around november 2006. but ill keep a lookout incase these are true, but soon theyll probly update the site and change the release dates.

I do believe the official Japanese release date is March 16 '06. I could be wrong, though.

Yeah but this is also using a completely new system and FFX and FFX-2 sucked...so the extra time should make it GOOD!

the american release date on amazon which says august sounds just about right but the release dates on play.com are clearly false.

I wish a release dote would actually be right for once, but I know it is coming out in 2006. It said so in the demo.
