Another six months, another Ciddies. As the heartbroken members who received no nominations trudge wearily into the night, a select few revel in the glory of their nomination. And while the avatar may be the icon by which members are recognized, it’s the signature that offers the most room for expression; be it funny, dazzling, or expressive of some poetic sentimentality, the sig is sure to please somebody. This year’s competition features some pretty notable entries and some undeniably tough competition. RSL’s duck is cheered on by many. Neel’s Rainbow Power reminds us of the giggly Banfest 2005. Ultima Shadow crosses Thundercats with Disney for a winning combination. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg; all 11 of the nominees boast impressive icons. Of course, there are Del Murder’s always-nominated trademark and Loo--er, Award Guy’s oft-victorious picture, crafted by forum vet MecaKane, to challenge the newcomers.
