A server load average of 1 means it's processing pages at it's normal maximum capacity. A load average of 5 means the server is basically getting 5 times as many requests as it can normally handle, which is why pages are loading more slowly now.
Normally the load average sits around 0.5 to 0.8.
Wow, the load average shot up to 10.65 for a second there.
So many people are reading this topic it's making the server go crazy.
