mine is.... between Rinoa, Ellone and Laguna. I go with Laguna. i find him soo funny and stupid! poor thing, hes just so nevous... but funny with cramp!

Ooooh close, I guess mine is either Laguna or Squall... hmmm...

I guess I'll go with Squall (sorry Laguna, are we still bestest of buddies?) cause he was the most in depth character in an FF, and of course he's awesome.

FF8 has so many great characters. zells quite good because of his temper and stiff. sqall is cool. rinoas for some reasona good character(probly personality.).selphie is alright and similar to zell but i dont like her as much . irvine i thinks funny sometimes and i think its hilarious when rinoa keeps on doing stuff to him in disk 2 like when she kicks him down down the stair in the galbadia prison.quistis i just cant see whats good about her. rajin and fujin are quite funny sometimes and seifers badass.cids funny when he acts all old and stuff kinda and edea is pretty boring and is better when shes a sorceress.

I mean, I like all of the orphanage gang, (and I think most of the other characters, too--how can you not like Dr. Odine, if you can put aside that he's probably a psycho?), but she's my favorite of the bunch, and is probably one of the most human characters Square has brought us. She has humor, she has professionalism, and she can (and does) think of others. Even when she's fairly well convinced that her relationship with Squall isn't going anywhere, she doesn't stop looking out for him. ...It probably doesn't hurt that she gets to throw the 'Go talk to a wall' line back at him, either. (Has anyone else seen that scene, at the Garden after the missile base mission?)

Not a psycho, a sociopath. And Dr. Odine is one. Just look at the way he acts:
He doesn't treat other people like real people at all, and he seems to care nothing for anything except what he wants to do.
That is sociopathic behavior. It is also frightening similar to Hojo's behavior in FFVII, the main difference being that most of Dr. Odine's ideas were correct.

My favorite character would be a tie between Squall and Rinoa.

How can you have a similiar personality to Seifer without being arrogant? Other than that what was he? He was gullible because of being caught up in his own dreams. That's connected to his arrogance. He acted 'cool' again part of his arrogance. Some people say he's insecure but that would also be caught up in that. So it seems to me Seifer's character was mostly based around being arrogant. BTW I thought he was great and really enjoyed the scene at the end of the 3rd disk with him, I just don't see how you could be similiar without being arrogant. (I used that word too much this post).
