question about abilities

i havent played ff ix in a long time and i have a quick question.you know how you can equip abilities and then you can master them.well if you master them then unequip it then do you still know it since you unequiped it.

for instance:lets say i equiped antibody to master it.then i master it and unequip it.will i still be protected against poison?

Only if you equip the ability, you can equip an ability once you've mastered it or if you have a weapon equipped that teaches you it.

only the abilities where you go to the abilities area and equip an ability

Yes, you can only equip an ability when a)you've mastered it or b)equipped a weapon with the ability.

with ANY abiltity once you master it you no longer need the thing that teaches it to you to use it.
