I came across this here when I was surfing the web the other day.

It is a pretty detailed history of rpg's. It is not professionally written however though and is basically a fan's work. It is pretty detailed though and the guy who wrote this obviously spent alot of time on it. So enjoy if you'd like

I was dissapointed a bit that it did not get into some of the popular rpg series that we know of today. I was waiting for him to get into final fantasy, zelda, and dragon warrior, but nope, never happened. It just talks about how the genre that would eventually shoot out series like that was formed.
