Ok, after using the converter you linked, and converting disk 1 again, there is still no sign of this elusive ‘secret’ FMV.
Unless you can explain why yours might be different, I’m afraid my faith in you is severely shaken…

its on the ff8 preview disk that came packaged with the platium version of ff7!

Anyway, I’m rather curious as the what this FMV might look like now. I actually found an FMV on my FF Tactics disk that didn’t seem to be in the game. It was some form of advertisement. I could have been that I didn’t look hard enough for it though…
EDIT: You’re probably wondering why someone who uses PAL has a copy of an NTSC only game right? Let's just say that 'my' FFT disk wasn't exactly an accurate description...
the audio on the fmv in ff8 "preview" is just aload of birds cheeping its really wierd.....
I cant believe someone else finally noticed this. I spent ages trying to figure out the fmv picture of Rinoa on the beach looking back at Squall as the spider robot chases him which I saw in my authorised collection guide. And Zell was in his normal clothes also. Im very confident to say its from the original FFVIII demo. You had a party of Squall, zell and rinoa running through dollet during one of the earlier points in the game. That demo also had its own music which isnt on the soundtrack also.
I have this on my demo disk from a playstation magazine... you play the Dollet sequence in the game. Rinoa does not talk possibley cause she isnt meant to be there. Its a very early form of FFVIII which might be why there in there normal attire instead of there uniforms. They also changed the time limit in the demo to 15min to escape rather than the games 30min which isnt that bad.

their is no dance sequence in the demo! I have the ff 8 demo, and yes their are some differances but no dance scene. Im glad i got this little demo cd after all
Actually, there was another demo disk at one time. Can't remember what it came with.. You got to play a really hard version of Dollet. That movie was at the end of it. I guess they were prolly going to make it all one demo and then didn't have time and split it into another demo disk. The demo disk also came with a demo for Xenogears and something else. It's been years since I had it. Interestingly enough, I got it long after FF9 came out.

same here, i remember first playing FFVIII and wondering where Rinoa was.....she did LAUGH at Siefer in the demo! (with mirth and merriment, right?)
