And then there is Death
im going for chrono trigger
Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross. Thery're great games. Although the Mana series games are too. It's a tie between those two series for me.
Wow i just took a look at my PSone game collection to help me decide on this and i realized that all but one of my PSone games are made by SquareSoft (The Legend of Dragoon was the only non Square game if you havent played it you should).
As for my favorite series i gotta go with Xenogears with a close second to the Crono games. I thought the story in Xenogears was really deep and well thought out and the battle system was cool (Crono Cross's battle system is really similar).

DQ, the chrono games, and the seiken densetsu series. and i liked the SaGa games too. (shut up you!!!)

Throw another vote in for the Chrono games.
Besides the Final Fantasys, the Chrono games are THE rpgs to get. :mog:
