Well, a returning character has been announced. That is, not including Silmeria.
http://www.gamespot.com/news/6141529.htmlAs previously reported, Silmeria takes place a few hundred years before the original Valkyrie Profile. The player takes the role of two characters named Silmeria and Alisha, who exist together in the same body. Silmeria is the younger sister of Lenneth (the main character in the original Valkyrie Profile), and Alisha is the princess of the lost city of Dipan. The trailer shown at the event introduced two additional characters: Rufus, an archer who's said to have an "imprisoned soul," and Lezard, a sorcerer who also appeared in the original Valkyrie Profile.
Yes, Lezard Valeth returns, which also creates more questions concerning his character. That is to say, can it be possible that it's a past incarnation of Lezard, or has he found a way to use the Philosopher's Stone to travel through time? If the latter, why? So many questions, but more Lezard is never a bad thing.
Less importantly, there've been a few new screenshots.

It's safe to assume that the crystals which played a small part in the original Valkyrie Profile's gameplay, as well as a similar battle system will be returning.
I have no doubt this game will be amazing.
EDIT: Looks as though I overlooked Kishi's post in my haste. The screenshots are there, as well.
The first is too hard to pick up, but if i do one day get it. Ill be sure to look into this ( even though its painfully obvious that the EU aint getting a sniff of it...
Yes this shall be something. I originally had my doubts over whether a sequel would destroy Valkyrie Profile, but the plans set in motion has reduced me to a quivering mass of fangirl. I can't wait to see more and honestly hope they bring it to North America.
Sorry for the double post, but I'm sure everyone would miss new updates if I just editted my last post! Here are some new battle details released- building upon the system that was featured in Valkyrie Profile! (found it at www.forthereunion.com)
I dunno how effective Leader Assaults will be...almost all of the "bosses" of the groups sat in the back, untouchable! As well, I hope the AP system is more fun and innovative than tedius.[The upcoming sequel to the cult classic, Valkyrie Profile, has some interesting twists to throw on the battle system that mirrors the system in the first game. While it is not a complete copy of the original system there will be some similarities. There will be more drastic changes to the system though.
AP: AP stands for attack points. They work much like the system in the Front Mission. In order to take action you must have attack points to consume and winning a battle will replenish your AP.
New Attacks: Unlike in the first Valkyrie Profile game you will now be able to throw enemies into the air and then attack them while in the air using mid-air combos. Hitting the enemy once will bring forth a special item that will replenish your AP, the number of times you hit the enemy in the air before it hits the ground will reflect the amount of this special item that will be dropped.
Leader Assault: Leader assault is somewhat like it sounds. Enemies will be grouped together and sometimes be in control of a leader. If you kill the leader you win the battle. Pretty simple no?
Extend Gauge: Basically during a battle a set of dots will appear on the right side of the screen. That is your gauge. The dots will slowly disappear during the battle and winning the battle with dots still present will result in extra experience. Thus the fast you win a battle the more potential experience you can get.
Sounds hopeful for the impatient gamer, such as I.
>>> You can do something like that in the first game too, throwing the enemies into the air and then using mid-air combos allowed you to get those Magic gems in battle..New Attacks: Unlike in the first Valkyrie Profile game you will now be able to throw enemies into the air and then attack them while in the air using mid-air combos. Hitting the enemy once will bring forth a special item that will replenish your AP, the number of times you hit the enemy in the air before it hits the ground will reflect the amount of this special item that will be dropped.
Haha, I have passed on that information 3 times, and all 3 times, someone has commented on that one paragraph.
True, but you're not actively throwing them into the air (more like juggling with your weapons). Perhaps this will build upon this ability.
>>> I wasnt thinking about doing it with the weapons, "Shadow Servant" and I think "Fire Storm" has this throwing effect in your opponents, and it worked wonders for me..
Anyways, since they say its different, I just can think about getting closer grab your opponent and throwing it into the air or it could be a certain kind of spell as well..
GUESS WHO

I can't believe it. I can't wait to see the drama unfold with she, Brahms and Silly.
Just more updates! VP: Silmeria will be released in Japan in June 2006...I've heard two dates, the 22nd and the 31st, though I believe it will be the 22nd...
Possible spoilers-
And in case nobody looked at the glaring obvious images and party names, a mage named Lezard is confirmed to be in the game. Incarnate or real deal? Who knows?
EDIT: And the woman in the picture circled above is not Hrist- but a new character.
Was the first one any good? It's rediculously expensive if you try to buy it online.
I like Kung-Fu.
I think Tri-Ace is subliminally telling us to buy this game by putting its characters as secret bosses in their games...(The first game.)
If I get a PSP, I'm definitely getting the remake.
And naturally, this game, if it is released outside Japan. (They better!)
Yeah, I couldn't see one for less than 130 bucks...I still want it though...Originally Posted by DMKA
Edit: I've also seen Japanese versions of "Lenneth" for not less than 40. Or maybe that's like the normal price for a PSP game. I dunno.![]()
