However, according to the police report, Beverly Kidwell hit her granddaughter, and she was at the police station to get arrested. Lieutentant Bowling claims Kidwell resisted arrested, and the lieutentant is even listed as a victim on the report.
She was there because she already hit someone and it is possible that she attacked the office while resisting arrest. Just because she's 68 doesn't mean she can't also be mean and abusive. But, if she attacked the officer I can see him using the taser once. Five times...probably not.

I dunno.. Mean and abusive or not.. He couldn't have just taken her down himself?

There's way too much out of context here. I'll agree five times might have been a bit much. But who knows what this lady did to her grand-daughter. And who knows what she did to this cop. And also, maybe it took five times to immobilize her. You can't just take her word for it. She might be innocent until provent guilty but so is the cop. So no jumping to conclusions. God knows what went on in that room without seeing the tape ourselves. But now it's evidense so I doubt they'll be releasing it anytime soon.

As you can clearly see she is brutally attacking him, he had no other option.
