it appears to me that when you capture mew, he will have the same stats as the poliwag you were meant to have fought from the gambler. since the gambler battle is being remembered. possibley this would also result in it leveling up similar to a poliwag. a mew caught by any other method would likley be stronger. all you have is a poliwag which looks like a mew

I used to be obsessed, back in teh day. I had Red, Yellow, two Silvers, and Sapphire. My best was Yellow, with around 86 Pokémon. My favorites are: Wartortle, Arcanine, and Raichu.
