Default There was a special atmosphere in this game...

I really ain't sure how to describe this, which is pretty annoying, but this game just felt incredibly nice to play.
I guess it's mainly thanks to the incredible Job System and all the messing around it allowed, but there's something else as well.
It's hard to define, but FF5 just feels "sweet" somehow.
I get this feeling already during the beginning of the game, when you play with Bare characters.
Just running around outside of Tule in order to Optimize your chars is great, and having a Broad Sword, Leather Shield, Leather Armour and Leather Shoes greatly adds to the fun of beating the first dungeon.
This game's got a very nice atmosphere, and I totally love some of the sidequests.
My personal favourite would probably be the 12 Legendary Weapons.
When you first see them you go like "OMG! Me wants!" until you realize you can't touch them.
Then, later on in the game, you're actually allowed to roam about in the world and unlock those Weapons, which always feels incredibly nice.
I got exalted the first time I was allowed to "pick 3 Weapons" and just acted like a child; "this one? Nah... wait! EXCALIBUR!"

As previously mentioned, it's really hard to define what I really mean, but the Jobs, items, magics and overall graphical colors add a lot to the feelings I get from this game.

and you come here like I'd written some stuff like "I slept for 12 hours tonight".
Now THAT'S a thread where your response would make sense. :rolleyes2

Good for you for having that feeling is what I mean my dear Sir.

And the response of a thread depend on what the poster interpreted from the thread and came up with a post of his/her own. Not every posts will be inside the expectations of the person that start the thread.

it certainly has an unique feel to the other FFs but im not sure if i find it boring or fun. a bit of a combination. its sort of slow moving when there are big gaps between good parts but the good parts are exiting and i think this game has the coolest character death ever.

Good lord. Snappy, aren't we? I personally couldn't get into FF5. Possibly the atmosphere. I hate to think I may be turned off by job systems. Considering I utterly hate tactics. But, I dislike those games for their own reasons. So I guess I'm just waiting on a good game that uses the job system. 'Cause it sounds nice. Just... FF3/5/T sucked in my opinion. I wish I could have enjoyed it with that feeling. But, I have my own games with that feeling.

I agree, it definatly does have a unique and awsome feel to it. Final Fantasy V is the only other ff title that gave the same awsome feeling I got while playing VIII and IX. Which is why these three are my favorites.

its hard to say for if it feels like FF8 or 9 because those two are my favourites but it does feel different and unique instead of same old FF (which is a good thing and not saying FFs get boring.) FF5 is good and bad id say because the bits with exiting things like X-death or other cool event are ery interesting andother bits like going to all of the meteorite to get items is sort of slow moving and boring.

Exactly... I hate it when people act like FFV is unpopular,

The SNES always seemed to get the best stuff, like:

Super Mario World > Super Mario 64
    Chrono Trigger > Chrono Chross
Star Ocean > Star Ocean: The Second Story

And of course, the FF games were no exceptions.
    FF4 = incredible classic; FF5 = unknown, incredible classic; FF6 = incredibly incredible classic

SNES was a really nice console.
