ACTUALLY that's not accurate. You see, these characters had simply trained themselves to hold their breath for extremely extended amounts of time. None of the characters in Final Fantasy X could actually breathe underwater!

As demonstrated by the Ronso Fangs, power means jack in Blitzball…

I actually thought that the Ronso Fangs got heavily shafted in blitzball stat-wise. I think they should have had a lot better shooting and tackling power, both of which would make them a lot more effective. It would have been a lot more indicative of their race and racial abilities.
