i was wondering what you needed to translate japanese games on a japanese playstation. besides being able to read japanese, i was wondering if there was like a chip or something i could toss in there.

No. Unfortunately, the magical universal translation chip is still in development.
I prefer it left in the original language, stuff gets lost otherwise in translation
I hear the CD goes in sidways with japanese playstations.
No..the go in the regular way but it is the way they get read by the system. Instead of just spinning their Japanese discs slipt into 2 disc and angled lasers read the information on both discs at the same time.Originally Posted by TasteyPies

someone i used to know bought final mix and a japanese ps2, how could he have known what they were saying? i bet he probably didnt even understand it. but anyway, i wanted one for the japanese versions of FFX, FFX2, and KH.
