    Default Square Enix Announces Dragon Quest VIII Prequel

    Following the success of Dragon Quest VIII on both sides of the Pacific, Square Enix has announced a prequel that will focus on the younger days of Yangus, the reformed bandit and sidekick of Dragon Quest VIII's hero. Entitled Dragon Quest Yangus, the PlayStation 2 game is similar in style to Dragon Quest VIII, as seen in these magazine scans.

    A Japanese release date has not been announced, but Square Enix will be showing off Dragon Quest Yangus at Jump Festa this weekend. More details are sure to come, so keep watching RPGamer.

    Bear in mind that DQVIII came out over a year ago in Japan.

    That still didn't take very long considering it's already in a developmental stage where they can show game screens.
