There was definitely also a reference to Cloud. Two references, actually; the first one was the guy with a big sword who came by that store, and the second was "No cloud nor squall shall come between us." So, a reference to Squall as well.

I'm sure there were others, but it's been ages since I played the game. It's honestly the only of the new-school FFs that motivates me enough to replay it, but unfortunately my first disc is scratched so badly that it won't play the FMVs.

cid can recover? I didn't know that, I thought him dissapering(I actually went back to that island to get the esper and see if cid ws still there but he was gone so either people diasspar when they die which is odd or he left)was the only thing possible in the game

Yeah, you have to feed him as many "Yummy Fish" as possible in as short a time as possible. You can tell what kind of fish you have by looking at your Rare Items.

There's also a fish that is called "Just a fish" which helps Cid feel better too. However, it's with the slower fish. Not the slowest one though. Sometimes there will be four fishes one really fast one, two slow ones, and then a really slow one. Get the fastest fish and then one of the two slower one. If it just says "fish" then get the other medium slow fish. And do not get the slowest fish if you are trying to save Cid. Not that it changes the main story if you save him anyways.

Yes. Regarding Cid, there's what one might call an invisible meter which begins at 120 and goes down by one every second. The "Yummy Fish" adds 32 to the meter, "Just a Fish" adds 16, "A Rotten Fish" reduces said meter by four, and the "Fish," despite sounding relatively benign, reduces it by 16. Cid dies if the meter ever falls below 30; the process ends and Cid is saved when it is elevated to ≥256.

As far as Gogo is concerned, the character is meant to be mysterious. There's nothing, really, to support any supposition or rumor pertaining to his/her identity. Regarding the Adlai rumor, details can be found here. Since this is EoFF, I'll note that Spatvark is quoted, and mentions Kishi and BOU.

GoGo is obviously just supposed to be a cross over from FFV. If you really want to know his identity, you should be looking for clues in that game rather than FFVI.

I just love giving him Blitz, Magic, and Tools as his abilities, though. He gets all magic spells, all Sabin's Blitzes, and then gets to wear a hard hat when he uses the tools! Muhahahahahahaha. Okay that was weird.

Anyway, I believe my own stuff about Gogo, I've written a fanfic about who he is, also tied to my one story "Who robbed Ultros' Grave?" and "Celes' Fallen Family"... needless to say, it was kinda strange...
