What is the perfect snow layer?

As Winter is approaching in the states, what is the best anount of snow to get?

Like, 6-12 inches, with no foot prints or anything in it.

Two or three inches. It needs to be below shoe-level, because having snow melt inside your socks isn't exactly comfortable.

I like snow, snow is rare up here and I like it when it gets up to your knees, about 1 ft for me.

I don't see why Shoden (and others) can't just take the 30 seconds it takes to look up an inches to centimeters converter on Google? I do that when everyone talks about degrees in Celcius, since I only know Farenheit. Besides, it'd be very hard to reeducate everyone in a whole new system, since for those who are already rooted in their Imperial System ways, it's insanely hard to learn Metric. We are taught Metric system in Science, but we're taught at around 11-13, so it's hard.
