What ever happened to this news

Were they talking about xenosaga for this or did square originally plan to make another xenogears game but then scrapped the plans. This article is from 1999 so it obviously is no longer valid.

They didnt confirm it, so it was obvioulsy rumors, although there could of been more to the story and maybe that article was talking about Xenosaga......who knows...

As nothing has happened that we know of for 6 or 7 years this probably isn't happening. They also talked about having Xenogears being the fifth story in the six games of Xenosaga, which would have meant it'd have a sequel in the sixth, but that was scrapped too because they're finishing the series with the third.
