Default Something similar to RPG Maker?

Hi does anyone know if there is something similar to RPG maker out there that is free? Or maybe not free but under 60 dollars USD. I want to make some stuff. If possible I would want to have something better than RPG Maker XP. Thanks

You might want to try RPG Toolkit Editor. It is rather different from RPG Maker, but it is completely free, open-spurce, and has a helping community around it. I think it needs some utilities to convert files (such as graphic files) to the required formats, but the tools are free, too, and easy to find.

You can find it at http://www.toolkitzone.com/ .

I prefer RPG Maker 2003 to RPG Maker XP. It's more 'old school'.

    Failing that, try Adventure Maker.

I remember the time I made a game. I did suprisingly well on common sense.

I'm going to agree with KoShiatar. Before I knew of RPG Maker, I used RPG Toolkit to make quite a nice little RPG. However, it was a lot more error prone than RPG Maker is, but it was usually fine.
