You can still play an electric guitar without a lot of noise, just don't connect the amplifier. I just started playing guitar myself.

I checked but I couldn't make it out clearly. It looks a bit like a strat but I couldn't tell for sure.

That's a horrible way to play the electric. No sound at all and you can achieve any effects. Hooooooorrrrriiiiibbbbbllllleeeeee.
Even when the sound is low an electric sucks. You get no distortion etc. Electics have to be loud to sound good.
