agreed.
It is pronounced "Tee-dus" as in the word "Tea".
It is pronounced "Tie-dus"/"Ty-dus" as in the word "Tie".

Everyday I wish that I could be the one, for you...
Tee-dus sounds stupid, so I pronouce it Tie-dus
The reason Tee-dus is pronounced as such is becuase we don't have that "I" sound in our alphabet.
Therefore it doesn't sound silly.
Everyday I wish that I could be the one, for you...

Yeah we all know that SE officially pronounces it as Tee-dus but what most of us are saying is that they pronounce it wrong. It was Tee-dus in Japanese but then when it went to be translated they made it Tidus which is actually supposed to be pronouced Tie-dus.

It's Tee-dus. SE is NOT pronouncing it wrong. Why? The Japanese alphabet vowel sounds are identical to Spanish vowel sounds.

So, the following things are true:
Kimahri- Kee-mah-ree
Rikku, Yuna, Lulu and Wakka are phonetical.
AND Tidus- Tee-dus
His name doesn't break any rules of English with this pronunciation. Consider the words 'Yahoo', 'Select' and 'Kiwi'. In the words, we find a consonant surrounded by two vowels. BUT, the first vowel does NOT use its long sound.
For the name to be pronounced 'Tie-dus', it would have to be spelled 'Tydus' or 'Taidus'. But 'Tidus' is clearly pronounced as if it were spelled 'Teedus'.
Not to mention the Roman name Titus is also pronounced Tee-Tus.Originally Posted by Lord Xehanort
