Crystals to the guard...

Yeah, when you've completed the "Save The Children" mission, every1 says you must give the guard crystals, any crystals I recall in order to be able to go on with the next mission. Well, I've tried and tried and I can't get it done. The guard just tells me he don't want it whenever I try to trade a crystal...

Person who you are going to trade crystals is not the same one you are getting missions from. Its the person who ask for signet.
I don't think type of crystal matters .... try trade them to the person you get signet from, then talk to the guard who you get mission.

Does it matter if you buy or synthenize the crystals??

It doesn't matter whether you buy the crystals, or if you get the crystals from farming mobs, and I don't think it even matters what type of crystal it is. I always choose to buy a couple stacks of the cheapest crystals (usually water crystals) and just trade 'em in.

Make sure that you're trading the crystals to the guy who gives you signet, not the person who gives you the missions.
