And the Steamboat Willy level is gonna be hell... I don't wanna begin to hunt enemies and items in a black-and-white environment.

I don't think it's actually part of the story. It's said that you don't need to play every world to beat the game. So Steamboat Willy's world may just be a bonus for old Disney fans.
