I wish there was a FF fighting game... Ehrgeiz was the only one and it was weak. I love FF games and fighting games... only problem is I totally think square should stay away from fighting games cuz they suck at them... I mean did anyone like Ehrgeiz? Godhand was too good and he wasnt even a FF dude! That kinda pissed me off.If somebody made a FF fighting game square should team up with namco. But to answer your question yes that would be uber sweet! (Both the FF fighting game and Sephiroth vs. Vivi!!) Go VIVI!!

As i've mentioned in another topic, a ssbm style game with Final Fantasy characters (instead of Nintendo) would be fun.

Each character would have their own style (eg. Zidane would be a quick hitting combo specialist due to his speed and dual daggers).

I think it'd be interesting if they used a refined equipment system seen in Soul Calibur II and III and the general Super Smash Bros. Style in that the controls are fairly simple and there can be multiple fighters on the field at once. Maybe not necessarily force a knockout as the only way of defeat, but it would definitely make for an interesting game.

And while we're at it, why not throw in more characters? Dragon Quest is a well-established series with a massive fanbase. That, plus characters from Vagrant Story, Seiken Densetsu, SaGa, Xenogears, and other Square-Enix series would make for a great game indeed.

I'm not sure. I'm not really into fighting games; I think they're fun, but I'm not sure if the abilities of characters that come primarily from turn-based battle systems could faithfully be translated into combos for fighting games. On the other hand, if it was done well and the right characters were chosen, it might be really fun... but I don't see myself among the people looking forward to Cloud/Sephiroth catfights, I've seen enough.
