Do you think Avenged Sevenfold would be classified metal? if so what sort? there old stuff sounds quite metal-core, but their stuff of their new album is really different and good. they have heaps of shredding solos, wiked doublekicks beats and fast heavy riffs.

They are only metal on City of Evil. That is a decent to good power metala album, and if they continue on the way they are going they can be pretty damned good.
Their old stuff is hardcore, not metalcore.

Mine is definately Metallica. Based mostly on the pure power of the lyrics and music, etc.
No, that band wouldn't be able to function properly. I chose artists who know how to play the same style of music, and would have a chemistry that would allow them to be a good band.
Halford's vocals do not suit the guitar work that Hetfield does, which also clashes with how Randy play. The bass is about all that would work in this band really.

Hetfield on Vocals, Lombardo on drums, Cliff at Bass and Hanneman on Guitar. That's a pretty strong band, or you could Shove Musatine in.
