I haven't come across many people that liked him.
His appearance is like that because he's half guado, which I think is cool. He has a cool character design, especially the hair.
Anyway, he's the most interesting character in the game. He has a flawed past and a twisted goal, which I like.

I'm not serious about the Seymour x Yuna thing. Seymour is a much more interesting character than Tidus anyway.
no way seymour is the stereotypical villain... creepy voice, power hungry, messed up childhood, evil looking... tidus is the opposite of most heroes, shaved legs, girly looking, girly sounding... tidus is way cooler

What are you talking about? Tidus is your typical rpg hero, most of them look girly O_o.
Seymour may be power hungry but for a different reason. He wanted to become sin so he could kill everyone in Spira and "save" them from the pain of life. A few rpg villains have messed up childhoods, granted, but I especially like Seymour's.

Squall isn't that bad, but Cloud does look feminine.
Yuna doesn't love him.
EDIT: Squall is more effeminate than Cloud, who is portrayed as quite manly in the original art for Final Fantasy VII and even Kingdom Hearts but given a more feminine character design for Advent Children.
