Women were quite common on Pirate ships, and were usually more dangerous than the men were. Some of the most feared pirates of the 16th and 17th century were ladies.

You seem to not be connecting the dots, people.

A) Pirates have ships (Noted by War Angel)
B) Ships are the awesomest of all sauces, even if they do take a long time to sail across Texas and half of Nevada. But hey! Vegas!
C) Ergo; Pirates the awesomesauce through mere association. Just by having ships they > Ninjas, who have little impressive and think their mystical musings make up for their lack of avarice and ostentatiousness.
D) Pirates are awesome in many, many ways.
