You are very, very close. Although, the first line says forged of a beauty, not for a beauty. Athena does have to do with the riddle though and another mythological creature that others have gotten close to figuring out.

How was the Aegis Shield forged of a beauty who could kill you with a stare?

    An invaluable asset
    To the azure order
    Only three hold it
    And only two give it
    Divine protection from unholiness.

    Hmm... Ultima spell?

    An invaluable asset

It's by far the best spell in the whole game.
    To the azure order
I didn't quite get this part, but isn't azure some kind of blue color?
    Only three hold it
Ragnarok esper, Paladin shield, and Magimaster.
    And only two give it
Well, Magimaster doesn't teach it on you.
    Divine protection from unholiness.
Well... I'd say this just points to Paladin shield, since paladin is holy or divine knight.

    EDIT:\\
In Greek Mythology, the Aegis shield was a shield of Athena that was made from the skin of Medusa, the beauty who could kill with a stare. Sorry if I didn't word it right.
    Well, I wouldn't be calling medusa a beauty. Unless I'm BAAA-AADLY mistaken.

I'm lead to believe it is the lore forcefield. Itsa a great asset, as it can randomly cancel out any elemntal effect. The azure order leads me to believe its a reference to the Blue Knight, or Blue Mage. Only three hold it, leads me to think of Godess, Dark Force, and Strago (if you learn it). Only two give it because, Strago can't give it to anyone. And as I said before its divine protection, because it will protect any and everything, and you learn it from creatures that aren't very holy.

    joecrak is close.

And I thought that the Aegis Shield was the shield that was used to kill Medusa, not made of her skin. I thought it reflected her gaze back at her and she killed herself. Also, gorgons are traditionally refered to as being horrendous, not beautiful.

That's not true. The gorgons were three beautiful sisters. Medusa was turned ugly because of something bad she did, I can't quite remember. The ugly sisters were the ones were the ones that shered one eye. Graye, or something like that.

Medusa was turned ugly from Athena because Poseidon liked her. That's pretty cruel if you ask me. I'm glad that the Greek Gods aren't real...

Kay, I think the thread died... again. Allow me to post a new riddle, then:

I died in the name of my loves...
Sepperated from ones of my kind...
I found one of them, to claim another one...
    And then lose them both...
    Who am I?
