YES I FINALLY FOUND IT AND IF YOUR STUCK I HAVE A GREAT TIP!
Before the fork in the road where the treasure chest containing a bright bangle is... run around in circles in the top left corner of the spot of light here... 1/4 of my battles doing this contained a simurgh! hope this helps someone
