question about cancelling account... please help

I'm thinking of cancelling my ffxi. now I know that the characters are stored on their servers, but is it possible to ever get back to them after cancelling an account? I dont want that month of gameplay to be gone forever.

Once you cancel your account, Squeenix will keep your characters for up to 3 months. Any time during those 3 months, you can go back and reactivate your account and have all your characters still in tact. Past those 3 months, you'd have to start from scratch if you want to get back into the game.

Incorrect, its up to 1 year now if you look at their ToS on playonline.com, and they change it without notice so check everynow and then.
