Well, I didn't really see that many movies, but I did like "Batman" and "Harry Potter".

Sadly, that's all I've seen that was new this year...

Wish I saw Memories of a Geisha

    lol, it's Memories not memoirs
    No, it really is Memoirs.

As for me, Serenity would be first, with Batman Begins a close second and King Kong third.

I only saw 4 movies this year (Star Wars, Wedding Crashers, Batman Begins, and Harry Potter), and I liked Batman Begins the best.

Revenge of the Sith and Batman Begins. Every other movie this year sucked, except maybe Serenity and Crash, which I haven't seen. I'm giving Serenity the benefit of the doubt because Joss Whedon made it. Crash is something I'm interested in seeing because I enjoy Paul Haggis' work. I could say Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, but it technically hasn't been released over here yet. Its duel sequences were even better than Revenge of the Sith, at least as far as eye candy goes (and let's face it, that's what duel sequences are.) Revenge of the Sith's acting was actually plausible, at least when compared to the earlier two entries, and it carried far more emotional impact than either. Ewan McGregor and Ian McDiarmid absolutely shined in their parts. Batman Begins was filled with pithy philosophical truths so obvious as to seem not worth stating, but the way in which they were presented with regards to the character of Batman only added to the film's impact. As for the rest, screw 'em. King Kong wasn't that good seventy years ago, and it isn't that good now, mostly because much of its message relies on emotional pull rather than logic, which is required for a truly profound philosophy. Not only that, the game was absolutely horrible. Narnia's too bogged down in Christianity for its own good, and Harry Potter is...well...Harry Potter. It wasn't a horrible film, but it certainly wasn't OMFG TEH UB4R L33T MOVIE OF ROFLAWSUM!!!1!!!
