mm An emo is meant to be someone who listens to emo music like hawthorne heights, jimmy eat world, AFI, takin back sunday etc., and they tend to be emotionally depressed. Most ppl who call other ppl emo usually have no idea what emo even means.... Basically anyone who uses black hair dye, Mascara, wears black clothes,is in anyway gothic is labelled an emo by those ppl.

well they rnt like full emo but yeh , do u happen to like any of these bands - The Used, My Chemical Romance, Funeral For a Friend, Alkaline Trio, Thursday, cus lots of ppl consider them emo

I was called emo by someone at college cause I had my GreenDay hoodie hood up! It was raining for god sake and as if I was going to get my hair wet! No Im not emo and I personally cant stand them, specially emo couples. Dressing the same, hairs the same and they look depressed as hell, its so annoying.

So you call them chavs, they call you emo. Seems like you're just as 'bad' as they are?

I know emotional/depressed/depressing people and I know people who are classed as emo, and I find them to be two extremely different things. But that's society for you and I'm just as much a part of the labelling as any other person, so I just learn to not really care about the whole thing.

If someone calls you emo, don't worry about it. *shrugs* Nothing horrible. If you are depressed or depressing, then that is something you should probably have a good long think about why you are that way and if it really matters. Or see a therapist. But, as with a lot of people that come to these boards, there's a good chance you're just going through a phase and in a few years you'll hopefully be out of it.

Actually, they called me a mosher. Thankfully, I haven't been called 'emo.' And it doesn't make me as bad because they're the ones who say it first.

I have a freind we call Emo. But he ins't Emo. Just like my friend Hippie who isn't a hippie OR my friend Slimmy that well isn't too slim.
