Trying to become a paladin by fighting myself, but the words.... "A true paladin......would sheathe his sword" keep flashing across the top. So I'm wondering if i'm supose to kill him...or do something else magical......?

Do nothing. Parry, heal if need be, but whatever you do don't attack. That's all there is to it. Just leave it a few rounds.

Yeah I had the same problum youre susposed to defend a few times and the battle will be over.

Actually, you can just do nothing, not parry or heal. DK Cecil doesn't do enough damage to take down Paladin Cecil and he'll be healed up after the battle anyways.

It's a lot easier. He attacks 3/4 times, then is destroyed. Lot easier than trying to kill him.

Well, in the original if you tried to kill him then you'll get killed yourself, or so I remember. They changed so much about the game in this remake...
