Libel is also only for talking to OTHER people about someone. Name-calling ("flaming") to a person is not libel. Now, if I sent an email to everybody at a persons' workplace spreading nasty rumors about said person, that could constitute libel.
If it's out in public to see by everyone (like at a MB) isn't that libel?
