Good thing I have my full name on my profile so none of my flamming will be done anonymously.
    I like Kung-Fu.

Libel isn't, however, and coincidentally most "flaming" constitutes defamation of character. If at all any offenders happened to be prosecuted under this, it would seriously be a waste of tax-payers' money and judicial services. While crimes regarding stalking, child pornography, and child solicitation via online means should still be sought after and punished, going after a 12 year old who likes to shoot his mouth off while playing a match of Counter Strike would be stupid.

Libel is already illegal, so why bother with this?

Libel is also only for talking to OTHER people about someone. Name-calling ("flaming") to a person is not libel. Now, if I sent an email to everybody at a persons' workplace spreading nasty rumors about said person, that could constitute libel.

If it's out in public to see by everyone (like at a MB) isn't that libel?

I guess, though not at an MB like here where everyone's (mostly) anonymous. I don't think defamation of e-character is a crime.

Good argument. At any rate, how would they know who to prosecute if you're annonmous?

Eh. This will probably be just one of those laws that isn't heavily enforced. Kind of like how oral sex is illegal in most states. How many times have you heard of someone being arrested for talking with bearded clams?
