Thread: Tidus question

    Default Tidus question

Checked all the pages, didn't see a thread on this. So, there is something, even after various replays of this game, I still find questioning, The Fayth told Tidus at Gagazet he was dream of course, and that he was part of the dream world the Fayth had created from the memories of the previous Zanarkand.

The Fayth said all the memories of the people and locations were recreated as a dream. In that case, is Tidus a dream of himself 1000 years ago? As the dream Zanarkand was said to mirror the people and places that existed when Sin ravaged the place...

    Play or X-2.
Or (SPOILER)Tidus is a dream version of Shuyin.

    No, he wasnt.

Nor is he a dream of a person that once lived in Zanarkand. Time has moved on and generations have come and gone. We see the presence of this as we see Tidus growing up and all that... if it was just a dream of the people who lived there, time wouldnt move on like that, people wouldnt die and so on.

I'm sure there are far more eloquent explinations that someone will come along with, and I know it's been discussed before, long ago, so if you want a more detailed explination, you can search waaaaaaay back.

The best explanation I heard was that the pyreflies that make up Tidus were the template that originally made up Shuyin.

The whole you are evil thing just got old.

ok not sure how to explain this very well but....

ok, tidus used to be in his normal time period playing blitzball in that incredible fmv at the beginning, but when he was "sucked in" by sin, his memories and spirit were transported 1000 years into the future, but his physical body wasn't, so as u no the fayth explained that he was simply made up of dreams and memories. when he was taken into the future, i'm not sure what really happened to his phsical form, maybe it died, idk. but what i do no is that in the end he went to the farplane which supports the idea that he died in the travel and was a dream ever since he awakened in baaj temple, which is where his story begins. :rolleyes2 that's an okay explaination i guess, but if yur lost, then i'd be happy to try and explain it better.

He's always been a dream, living in the Dream Zanarkand.

There's no time travel in FFX, except flashbacks. Tidus is not a flashback; because when on the Liki, Tidus begins talking to Yuna about Jecht, and she comments that when Jecht disappeared, that was the day that he came to Spira, claiming to be a man of Zanarkand. Jecht and Tidus are both dreams, the ENTIRE GAME. Tidus went to the Farplane because the memories of Tidus were real (Yuna and the party), which kept him to be sustained by the pyreflies. Otherwise, if there are no memories of the people, then they could not exist. This also explains why Tidus' mother appears on the Farplane. Since Tidus became real when he got stuck outside of Dream Zanarkand, his memories also became real.

This also raises other questions, such as how do pyreflies work, but many of these are answered in other posts. Maybe we should make a sticky trying to explain the game and its theories.
