Why do you like ffiv?

I must have started this game four or five times and have given up everytime. Basically i didnt like how leveling up was nessessary to learning magics/skills etc. If you stay on a low level, you can't learn anything. This wasn't a problem for final fantasy v, vi, vii and viii, the other final fantasy's i played, as they had a system with ability points for jobs, espers, materia, and guardian forces etc

So what kept you playing? I understand the story was good and the characters were good, but the actual gameplay is the most important. I enjoyed what i saw of the characters and story, but i didn't enjoy actually playing.

It really depends on how you're playing it, FFIV can get really annoying at times, but it runs really smoothly with the plot, so there's no realy times where you HAVE to level ridiculous amounts in order to be able to go ahead with the game.

It really depends how good you are at the game, I found the plot and characters highly enjoyable and worthwhile, but I really do need to play that game again.

The gameplay in FFIV is pretty bad. FFIV: Advanced improves upon this, but unfortunately the ATB system makes the game ridiculously easy.

But yeah, I guess the story line is the only reason you would play this game.
