This question has been in my head since I have played them. Around this forum is see continual fights about "IX is better" or "VIII owns IX" etc etc. So people. If everyone votes here, there will be a final answer.

Obviously IX. VIII is okay, but IX just rox my sox.
FFIX is only really flawed in regard to its battle system and lack of originality (the latter of which is only really an issue if you've played the classic FF games). FFVIII is flawed in pretty much every way except graphics.
So yeah, FFIX.

FFIX. I thought it had better gameplay, characters, story, villians, graphics, music. The whole shebang.
FFIX, VIII was good, but IX has a decent message for everyone, and I think those who haven't played it should go out and buy the game.
VIII is amazing.
But IX is better.

IX was the first FF I bought. And it rocks. No question!

FFIX hands down, it was a torture for me to finish FFVIII but I had to because I wanted to finish all the FF.II and X-2 were worse though...
