And my guess... I keep thinking that the clues point to a rather unique spell that only one good guy and one bad guy have in their skill set. Like maybe MBarrier or something. Am I even on the right track here?

The answer is MBarrier. It's cast by Alma, who later is possessed by Ajora, the main villain. If you feed her ethers, she'll have enough MP to cast it a second time.

Hahaha, and lol and all that! I really thought I was coming out of left field on that one. So now the dilemma is that I have to think of a new riddle. I'm so unprepared. I'll get back to you soon.

What does "it" refer to?

Nope, but a very good guess. Ultima does have different variations, all similar. Ultima uses dark energy. It can be given to one other character (Ramza). And I even think that visually it goes from the ground up. Don't know if you are connecting lines 3 and 4 to the overall picture though. I added the words "and" to line 4, and "use" to line 6 to hopefully make it a little clearer. In another day or two I might add a couple of new lines which I originally thought would make it toooo easy! Keep those guesses coming. I promised you all it was a tougher one this time.

Sorry ma'am. Good try. Dark Holy uses dark energy. And it is a sort of variation on the Holy spell. I can see why you might take that guess, but there are other lines that I don't think would fit a description of Dark Holy.

It might help me give you more direction if everybody puts a little bit of explanation for their guesses? It doesn't have to be an explanation for each line or anything but just for why you thought your guess would be right or even close.

well sir, i just visualized each of the lines in my head, and for some reason my guess is:

Nope. There are a couple of characters or even a few characters that can use wish. And wish is a sort of plea toward heaven? I don't see your connection to the other lines though. The answer to the riddle is not a skill you'll get to use.

EDIT: Ooops, that clue could be confusing. Allow me to rephrase it: The answer is something that some characters can use (in fact the riddle says just how many you'll see use it at the time), but it isn't an action any of your characters can take in the traditional sense. That's better. I hope it helps. I've also edited my last two posts to include what I think the guessers may have been thinking. However, they're off track. I will let everyone know if someone gets any part of the riddle right. Good luck!
