Oh no, that means I've got to squeeze my brain again and try to get another juicy riddle. This is going to hurt. Ooowwww!!

    Okay here it is:

One sought power and was sacrificed,
One sought purity and was punished,
One sought vengence and was redeemed.

One wouldn't invite the hero to dine,
One invited the hero to combine,
One invited the hero to ride,
All invited the hero to die.

    Three are one in blood,
    Two are one in faith,
But only one is two, in one.

Not really too tough this time. There are lots of clues in there. I am asking for 3 names.imp:

Alma Beoulve, Zalbag Beoulve, and Dycedarg Beoulve, and not necessarily in that order.

Very good guess feioncastor, but unfortunately it doesn't fit certain parts of the riddle. Particularly, the line "All invited the hero to die". You could argue that even Alma, (SPOILER)as Altima "Bloody Angel", did want to kill the hero; but Zalbag never really wanted to kill him. Also, Alma was the only one of the three that had a strong sense of faith; here we need two. None of them were seeking purity either, IMHO. The rest of the clues do fit your answer well, so you were pretty close. Try another three people.

Well, dammit Lich3636, you are right! Unfortunately you appear around this forum about as often as the guy who checks the gas meter comes around my house. That is to say, once a month. So yeah, somebody else post a riddle. I'd really like to hear one from feioncastor, he has been right in the past and close so many times, but hasn't posted a riddle in forever.

If you want some explanation about the last one:
Sought power, sacrificed= Vormav (SPOILER)hungered for power, and had to sacrifice himself in order to resurrect Ajora.
Sought purity, punished= Izlude (SPOILER)wanted a pure, holy Ivalice; his father punished him severely for his failures.
Sought vengence, redeemed= Meliadoul (SPOILER)blamed Ramza for Izlude's death, but eventually saw the error of her ways and changed.

Wouldn't invite the hero to dine= Vormav said something like "I won't invite you to dinner because I'm very busy now." to Ramza at Murond.
Invited hero to combine= Izlude told Ramza he should join forces with them because they both wanted the same thing.
Invited hero to ride= Meliadoul asks to travel with Ramza to see Dycedarg.
And at one time all of them wanted to kill Ramza.

The 3 of them (SPOILER)share the same bloodline.
Izlude and Meliadoul (SPOILER)are Shrine Knights who are faithful to the Glabados Church. Vormav, well...
Let's just say Vormav has some problems brewing inside him.

    Neeeeext!!!

    Misunderstood as wealthy
    Yet so poor
    And not by money, necessarily
But by the very essence of life, that is,
    I'll approach from the beyond
when you ask me for assistance

Aeris? She owes this ridiculously huge debt to theives that's she's trying to pay off one lousy Gil at a time, by selling flowers. :O_O:

The Soldier Cloud comes to her rescue after arriving from another world where the Aeris he knew there dies.

Nope, but excellent guess. Well fitting, but Aeris is necessarily poor by money.

The answer to this riddle is an entity that is not nessarily poor in terms of money.

Here's a hint. The number "600" relates very directly to the answer.

Ask me for assistance sounds like a Summon to me, poor by the very essence of life makes be think undead, and approach from the beyond again makes me think this is an other planar summon.

    I'll guess 'Lich'?

Just noticed Feioncastor's new clue... I think I may have gotten it!

    Yep, you're Despotus.

But can you identify all the clues as they relate to the answer?

You've mentioned poor by the essence of life, from the beyond, and assistance, but what's with the wealthy thing? And what does 600 have to do with anything?

When summoned, Lich appears as Rich through a simple L-R confusion common for Japanese translators. And 600 the MP cost I believe.

I think Despotus should have the next turn.

I agree. Bring it on Despotus!

And I was forced to exploit the Engrish in FFT. I had no choice, guys.

If you like Engrish, you should check out www.engrish.com. No Zero Wing though.

I did figure that the 600 clue referred to the Jp cost (not MP, BG...) but I had forgotten about that Engrish mess-up in the casting!

I apologize for taking so long guys, but I can't even think of a good riddle right now because my little sister is driving me nuckin futz!!! So, if you don't mind, I'd like to vent a little.

First of all, she's never on time for anything. She'll make an appointment with a friend or with me; and, for what seems like forever, we'll just be standing around like idiots, wondering what in the hell she's doing, where she's at, and when in the hell she'll show up? And when Miss Molasses finally does arrive, we're running late!
In a "conversation" (if you can call it that), she never lets anyone else talk, but just goes on and on with another lame-ass story that'll bore you into a coma.
If you ever saw the way she acts, it would turn your blood cold. But God forbid anyone should try and criticize her, she'll gouge their eyes out! She makes me sick!!!! So sick, I can't even remember my own name. Have you guessed it? My name, that is?

I've read your "story" about 30 times, trying to find some kind of clue, but I'm sure that if it's there, I won't find it. I'm sure that BG-57 already has got it, though.
