 Cable Splitting

I've recently been trying to rip game scenes off my ps2, but there is a long delay between me inputting the command, and my PC capturing it. I've been thinking of getting some cables that can split the signal from my ps2 so I can play in real time with my TV without being concerned about the delay that my pc registers.
Would this cause the picture quality to reduce considerably, or is there any other problems that this might cause?
Thanks for any help.

It depends on how you are capturing images in the first place.
If you get a good cable splitter you can get around the same quality as if you connected directly. I'm sure some nicer splitters involve some sort of amplification. Don't know for sure though.

Its going through an external capture device, i have no idea what you call it, but it isnt part of my graphics card...
Thanks for the advice though, I suppose its something I should ask in the shop when i buy the splitter...
