That said solid above average, not excellent or anything- not the greatest example of a highly positive review.

Grandia 2 was fun, the gameplay was awesome but the story's second half changed from a 7 or 8 to a 4 or 5 with an incredible amount of overbearing, bland cliches. I'm somewhat torn about this game but from what I've seen I don't think I'll be able to enjoy the storyline enough. I will admit though the gameplay was enormous fun... I wish the final boss had been a remote challenge and hadn't looked like a butterfly combined with a snail. If the story's good though this could be a truly awesome game.
