For the next movie which FF would you choose

A prequel to X would be great as a movie imo. Retelling the game would be predictable, and a sequel would have very little to work with, but a prequel, like another summoners pilgrimage, might be fairly decent

Agreed, my vote goes for FFX.

I can think of some very unpredictable sequels...

But 2 or 3 prequels would be cool:
- The Bevelle / Zanarkand war period w/ Shuyin, Lenne, Yu Yevon, Yunalesca
- The pilgrimage of Braska
- The founding of the Crusaders and it's leader's trip to Bevelle to convince the Church to accept them

I would say FFIX. It had a short and simple enough story to be able to fit in a couple of hours, and character interractions were best in the series. That's all you need for the formula of a good movie.

Final Fantasy X...it played like a movie anyways, so I imagine tooling it to movie form wouldn't be too tough.

Yup, that would be good. And I've found the perfect trailer for it here. For the movie you could just tweak the graphics to make them better, and vwalla, you've got a movie trailer.

Oh like they'd have to make a movie, it's not like they havnt already spelled that sort of setup out for the general gaming audience.

Personally, I'm of the opinion that square should just give up on animated series and movies. Spirits Within was woefully unappreciated because it dared to be final fantasy and tell an original story, and a good one at that.

Advent Children is a terrible, terrible movie, below the status quo set by Adam Sandler films, yet the fans a screaming it to be a masterpiece just because it is set in a game world.

and the past attempts at animated series... *shudder*

I say lets preserve what little dignity Final Fantasy has left, and start a petition to bring back sakaguchi, amano, and uematsu.

I'd say FF8, it'd attract fans' attention and make newcomers think how it is better than FF7, not that I'm saying 7 is bad. Either that or... 9... or 10... Some good ideas here though
