Thread: Success rate of spells. @_@

    Default Success rate of spells. @_@

    Well, since I am doing the Lv1 Ozma challenge @_@ I'd like to know the success formulas of Stop, Break, and just about everything that is chance-based o_o;

    I want to know this mainly because I don't really know if Focus affects the success rate of Stop.

    I don't know that Focus enhances success rate. The only thing that for sure does that is your Spirit stat. Raise your Spirit and your status spells will work better. I don't know how much better, but better. But someone who has done this challenge might know if Focus affects success rates.

    focus is the best thing ever, generally two or so focuses will change the percentage from very low to survivable.

    Thanks Jess1 for the awesome sig!!!

    Soft Reset has a great guide on damage formulas and percentages on www.gamefaqs.com

    The first thing I've done is look that guide. And even though it is marvelous and all, it has damage formulas only; no hit formulas.

    I don't know how to figure those out. Damage equations are simple enough. I'm sure the equations used by the game are different than what I've written, it's obvious because of the random factor, but they work in telling you how much damage can be caused based on stats and such. In that they're accurate.

    Success rates and formulae though, those would require skills that I don't have and probably never will. Hopefully someone will come along with some programming skills and put my guide out of business, but it doesn't seem likely any time soon.

    From my observations I know all status spells have a single byte related to success or failure, but exactly how I don't know. Stop and Break have a success byte value of 40. The target's Magic Evade along with the Spirit and Level of the caster seem like the most important things.
