    Default Fashion Icons.

There have not been so many black "Top Models" but I think the tides are changing. Today when you look around, TV, Musik, Fashion, sport, black women are taking over. I dunno if you've realized this, but I truly hope that's the case. Over the years there have been a few inspiring black women who set the standard for future models to come. Fashion legends such as Grace Jones (I am able to seperate my total fixation and from the truth xD) and Iman are women who have done more than set the standard, they are the ultimate icons in Fashion. In the last ten years a couple more black female icons have emerged, Tyra Banks (first black woman to appear on several of magazines), Naomi Campbell (first black woman to appear in some of the biggest fashion magazines) and Alek Wek (first African supermodel). What do you think?

I think it's great that black people are having more popularity in the fashion world, and all the other medias as well. It helps break down some walls of prejudices and that is just fantastic.

I don't think those women are fashion icons, so much as they're super models. Tyra Banks especially has... not-so-great fashion sense. She's downright awful sometimes.

What do I think about these women? Great for them to break into a scene that was predominately focused on caucasian women. Now if only women of other races can do the same.

I agree, we need to see some more Asian, Arabic, Indian and culturel women in general.

Edit: If anyone is curious to see Grace on the runway, here's your chance:
