British comedy is more subtle. The insult being funny relies on the tone of voice and you being a friend with the person talking to you. Social relationships, tone of voice and double entendres are used more than stupid statements and canned laughter for comic effect. British humour mocks real life, not odd situations. Odd situations are weird not funny, good humour is found in real life.

Little Britain has its moments but Dead Ringers is a far better example of parody. Hitch-hickers is a great example of zany humour.
