Default Final Fantasy XII Judges, Chocobos Steal the Spotlight

    http://www.rpgamer.com/news/Q1-2006/012106a.html

More propaganda from Final Fantasy XII, Square-Enix’s latest entry into the popular franchise, has been found in the pages of the Japanese magazine Shonen Jump. They shed new light on two different parts of the upcoming game: chocobo riding, and the enigmatic Judges.

Some gamers may recall that in earlier games from the series, riding a chocobo was often a one-way trip, as the giant birds would run off as soon as the rider dismounted. In Final Fantasy XII, however, instead of running away after disembarking, players will have a set time limit in which to ride a chocobo. The birds will remain even after a player gets off, but once the time limit has run out, the chocobo will either dump the player or run off.

Also, more information on the Judge Masters has been discovered. The first, Zargabas, is a military man with complete loyalty to both the Empire and the Emperor. The second, Belga, is the most forceful of all the Judges in both word and deed. He is loyal to Vayne, the leader of all the Judges, and adheres to the idea of ruling through sheer power. The last and only female Judge, Dreis, instead has sworn her loyalty to Vayne’s younger brother, Ratha.

Final Fantasy XII has been announced for a March 16 release date in Japan, and is scheduled for 2006 release on North American shores.

    Vaan - "Hey, you!"
Penelo - "Yeah, you! The one reading this sig at this very moment!"
Vaan - "Interested in playing FFXII International Zodiac Job system?"
Ashe - "But you have no knowledge of the Japanese language?"
    Fran - "....We could help...."
Balthier - "That's right, Fran! Just click on Crossblades' thread on the very bottom of this signature and it will show you all license grid translations, magicks and tecks locations, and other changes that were made!"
Basch - "Don't forget though. Swap Magic is needed to play this game if you don't own a japanese PS2."
Vaan - "Also remember that if you played the original, you'll have an easier time playing the international version. We hope you enjoy the International Zodiac Job System experience. See ya then!"

Whats it saying? That there will be more chocobo riding? Man! lol. I was so used to killing chocobo's in FF10-2. lol.
Yeah, so what, I'm a chick that plays Final Fantasy. Not my fault my dad got me hooked when I was little. Started with Final Fantasy Tactics, and now I'm on Final Fantasy X-2... And I'm only 14!

Time limit... wtf xD I hope it's different for different chocobos. Spice it up a bit. Oh well. Getting an airship eventually anyway, I'm sure.

Considering FFX, I don't think there will be different types of chocobos. Unless they bring back the world map that is. I think there will only be normal chocobos.

I didn't say different types of chocobos. Just different chocobos. Though it'd be nice if they went back to having different types. What I meant was maybe sometimes you are unlucky and grab a really rambunctious bird that only lets you stay on for a few minutes. Othertimes you get a really docile and patient one that'll hang out with you for like half an hour or so.

Now that you mention it, I was think the same thing. I'm hoping they do that instead of having a bird that you only get to ride for 15 minutes.

i hope there isnt a law system like in FFTA. at least there are main judges instead of them randomly appearing. the judges better be good. the chocobo thing seems alright.

Aren't the Judges also called the "Terror Knights" and are the primary bad guys or is that just outdated information?

I'm almost positive that they are bringing back the world map. It will probably be a lot like the world map in Dragon Quest 8, I think.

I'm not too fond of the time limit, but it's no biggie. They just don't want you to ride the chocobo too much. What I wonder is how monsters react to chocobos. Like for instance, will there be monsters that can attack chocobos? Like, a chocobo eater you have to avoid? That would be scary O_O. Imagine traveling around and then a chocobo eater grabs your chocobo and tried to eat it while you're riding it.
